Interview with 16 Horsepower on BRT2
Torhout-Werchter Festival
Torhout (B), 4 July 1997

David Eugene Edwards: We all like horses … I like the name horsepower, I like the image of, you know … an animal that is working for you, that is laboring for you. That is kind of what it means, to work.

song: Black Soul Choir.

DEE: I just tell him ... that basically I think it is my job to tell people that they are evil.
Interviewer: People are evil?
DEE: Yeah.
I: All people?
DEE: Yeah.
I: You too then?
DEE: Yeah.

song: Dead Run

DEE: I believe in God and Jesus and the devil and the bible and angels, and heaven and hell, and all of that. I: There aren't a lot of young people that believe that.
DEE: That's why I am out here.
I: Really?
DEE: Yeah.
I: Are you trying to convert them so to speak into religion?
DEE: I don't look at it that way, but I hope that that is the case. I hope that they are.

This interview was conducted by Belgian TV-station, BRT 2 at the Torhout-Werchter Festival in Torhout (B). The programme broadcasted, in between the interview, live versions of Black Soul Choir and Dead Run, which were performed earlier that day.
