Initially Hoarse was only available (in digipack) by mail order from Glitterhouse and at concerts. The first edition (3.000 copies) has an incorrect track list. Only 10 tracks are listed (instead of 11, "Black Lung" isn't mentioned), track order is erroneous and "Bad Moon Rising" is wrongly credited to 16 Horsepower instead of John Fogerty. Track list of later pressings is correct. In March 2001 Hoarse was released "regularly" by Glitterhouse (in jewelcase). Inside cover of EU versions (digipack and jewelcase) has picture from Clogger video. Inside cover of US version (digipack only) contains pictures from 16 Horsepower performance at North Star Bar, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, 21 September 2000.

All songs recorded 5 May 1998 at the Bluebird Theatre, Denver, Colorado, USA, except "Horse Head" (Bluebird Theatre, 4 March 1998) and "Fire Spirit" featuring Bertrand Cantat (Bataclan, Paris, France, 21 October 1998).

Produced by Bob Ferbrache and 16 Horsepower
