16 Horsepower's second time on Rockpalast. In 1996 they had played during a so-called Rocknacht (rock night). In the early eighties Rockpalast started organizing open-air festivals too. At the Loreley Freilichtbühne (Lorelei open-air theatre), on the bank of the Rhine, where once a beautiful maiden called Loreley sat at night on the rocks by the river, combing her long golden hair and singing. Her appearance and siren song lured captains to their death as they ran their ships onto the rocks. Or so the legend goes. In 1997, 16 Horsepower shared the stage with Simple Minds, INXS, Sheryl Crow, Neneh Cherry, the Levellers and Jean-Paul Bourelly.

A small banner read "Sing a new Song" and "Let all the earth Shout for Joy". Jeffrey-Paul Norlander was in the band. Pascal Humbert played bass this time round and Steve Taylor was still a roadie. The show was broadcast live on WDR (a German tv station).
