  • Instead of playing Tuscany, 16 Horsepower will do a show in Lombardy. The Italian 16hp show on 10 July has been changed. The band will not play at the Arezzo Wave Love festival in Arezzo, but at the Ghost Days festival in Varese. The other acts on the bill that day are Grand Transmitter (UK) and Anonimo FTP, Merci Miss Monroe and Encode (all from Italy). Sophia and The Ex are two of the bands on 11 July, the second day of the two-day festival.
  • Woven Hand's performance at the US Cornerstone festival on 3 July was listed as unconfirmed. It's now confirmed that Woven Hand will not return to the festival where David Eugene Edwards and Daniel McMahon played in 2002.

  • 03-06-2004:
  • In 2000 Smooch Records, in coorporation with Radio 1190 KVCU (the radio station of the University of Colorado at Boulder), released "Local Shakedown", a double CD with independent music from Colorado. Recently Smooch has released Volume II.

    Local Shakedown Volume II

Another double issue. Again featuring an introduction from Jello Biafra (who pledges his allegiance to Boulder like he used to do in third grade). And there are 43 more additional tracks. Among others from Slim Cessna's Autoclub, Maraca Five-O, Devotchka, Blood Axis, Tarantella, The Czars, Munly And The Lee Lewis Harlots and Woven Hand ("Cripple Gate"). Like volume I, volume II was mastered by Big Bad Bob Ferbrache at Absinthe Studio.

The Album is available in selected stores in the Denver/Boulder area (Bart's CD Cellar, Black and Read and Twist and Shout). You can buy it online from Alternative Tentacles and Midheaven Mailorder.

  • Other assorted release news. As we reported in March, Glitterhouse would release a DVD-Audio version of Lilium's second album, "Short Stories". That will be out on 21 June. You will have to wait until 12 July for a limited edition (500 copies) of a Lilium 7" single featuring a remix of the Short Stories track "Sorry" with Kal Cahoone and Tom Barman on vocals. The flip side contains a new track, "Leaving".

As indicated in April, Glitterhouse will release "Consider The Birds", the new Woven Hand album, on 6 September in Europe. One day later Sounds Familyre releases the album in the rest of the world. Glitterhouse has already reserved a catalogue number for the upcoming 16 Horsepower DVD: GRCD 599. A release date hasn't been set yet. Volkloren had scheduled to release Folklore on vinyl in May but the 33 rpm album isn't out yet.

  • 08-05-2004:
  • On 25 April we said we would keep you posted about the status of the (then still) unconfirmed gig at the Eindhoven Effenaar. Well, it's off! Instead 16 Horsepower will play Nighttown in Rotterdam on that day, 13 July. The night before you can catch 16hp at the Utrecht Tivoli. The Arezzo Wave Love festival in Tuscany is another addition to the band's tourschedule.

At the Egersund Kick on 31 May. There are indications that shows on 22 and 24 May will be announced, but nothing is official just yet.
