Thank You For Clapping

Woven Hand - Mosaic review

by OW
from Belgian magazine RifRaf, 31 May 2006

This is the most claustrophobic record by Woven Hand so far. With little means David Eugene Edwards conjures up spooky sounds. The sound is dark and gives little cause for jubilation, except then that, in spite of the sad sound, it is lovely to linger in this sound if you like music with a soul.

A soul that evokes the spiritual side of life. Besides the Lord as most important source of inspiration, he now also consults medieval lyrics and music, and Native Americans too. Repeatedly you hear American Indian rhythms appear in his music.

Last year (tyfc: in 2004) Sixteen Horsepower made their musical will at the Deurne Rivierenhof. This summer Woven Hand will also come to the Rivierenhof. Hopefully not to write its will.
