Looking back on the performance Woven Hand did at 9 December 2006 in Moscow, Russia. Thanks Ancho and Pocthi.

17-12-2006:
Visit Horsemouth to change your plans for the holidays. Thanks Alex. [Oops ... Denver International, the nation's fifth-busiest airport, closed to all flights Wednesday (20-12) when a blizzard buried the city in 2 feet of snow, closing schools, offices and stores at the very height of the Christmas rush. - cnn.com]

05-12-2006:
Thanks to Annemarie a clip of a film announcement on Dutch television. Why? Listen with your QuickTime player. Feedback of Woven Hand's Scandinavian part of the tour: pictures from the Stockholm (S) show. Thanks Peter Kl.

03-12-2006:
Refresh again: Aarau (CH), Haarlem (NL) and Groningen (NL). At the Oosterpoort show in Groningen no camera's were allowed, yet one sneaky shot turns out to be three in one. Very bizarre! Thanks Millie, Sylvia, Dick, Peter P., Jaap, Annemarie and Ole.

02-12-2006:

Pictures and setlist in from yesterday's show in Salzburg, Austria. Thanks to our correspondent in the area, Alex.

07-11-2006:
Two more Mosaic reviews from the French-speaking world and both prefer Consider The Birds to Mosaic. Musique-Chroniques (CH): "...all the elements of a great album are there. And yet, strangely, they just don't quite gel, as if a great cast was playing a clumsy scenario." Benzine (FR): "This lack of spark can be felt throughout Mosaic, and prompts us to dive back into the wonderful depths of Consider the birds, Woven Hand's absolute masterpiece. " There's an interview from US magazine Under The Radar and on Horsemouth you are guided to a new venue for the Moscow show. Thanks Magali, Marga and Sasha, respectively.

17-10-2006:
A bombastic yet (or therefore?) entertaining Mosaic review from French newspaper Libération has been added in which D.E.E. is likened to Klaus Kinski (among others). Thanks Magali. Plus some more pictures from this summer's Oldenburg show have been uploaded. Thanks Jetti and Sandra.

07-10-2006:
From the U.S.: pictures from the Cat's Cradle show in Carrboro, NC (thanks Stephen), an interview from Popmatters (thanks Marga) and 5 mosaic reviews. From Spacelab (If you're into chanting, or need background music to your next bloodletting, the album is worth checking out. Besides that, leave this for your next trip into the woods.), Dusted (Mosaic is overwhelming, dizzying, serious and beautiful, a spiritual experience even if you don't share Edwards' difficult faith.), Stylus (part hopeful prettiness and part dark moan), Aversion (Wovenhand's latest is either an inspired praise album or a gloriously creepy jaunt through the shadows, depending upon your devotional level. Either way, it's proof that Edwards is once and for all free of his alt-country roots) and Christian Music Central (Overall, Mosaic brings listeners a cloudy but interesting picture of what's going on in the mind of David Eugene Edwards.)

From Europa: a UK Mosaic review from Drowned In Sound (Still keeping to his very own thing, David Eugene Edwards has again created his own little world, far away from here in time and place, and as such, Mosaic still serves as a refreshing mind-spa.), an interview from French newspaper Libération (Merci Magali) and release news on Horsemouth.

21-09-2006:
A chance for David Eugene Edwards to practise his Hebrew. See Horsemouth. Thanks Omri.

19-09-2006:
Today is the start of David Eugene Edwards' solo US tour supporting Serena Maneesh. Sounds Familyre has released Mosiac stateside and we have made a small selection of the many reviews.

We have added the differing critiques of hometown magazine Westword ("Musically, though, Mosaic is more subtle than its predecessor, with Edwards conjuring primeval sounds that seem utterly timeless."), Christianity Today ("Edwards could learn from 1 Corinthians 14:1-15 concerning his songwriting. But while his music certainly remains an acquired taste, there's still something captivating about his puzzling lyrics and unique sound."), Lost At Sea ("No offense to 16 Horsepower, but this is the music Edwards was born to make."), Indie Workshop (In top form, this Wovenhand album is as strong as any in the 16HP catalog.") and Opuszine ("In short, Mosaic displays both the greatest strengths of Woven Hand's music as well as its greatest weaknesses.").

26-08-2006:
A chance for David Eugene Edwards to practise his Russian. See Horsemouth. Thanks Alex.

04-01-2005:
First of all a Happy New Year to you all. What's new? Or old?

And a Consider the Birds review from US e-zine PopMatters which considers "Chest of Drawers" one of the best songs in all of Edwards' oeuvre and wonders why secular Europe is so taken by fiercely religious artists like David Eugene Edwards. A really good review!

07-12-2004:
More Consider the Birds reviews: from British magazine, Uncut and American e-zine Pitchfork. The press seem to get more and more positive as time goes by: "a masterstroke of creeping gothic". Thanks James and Edwin.

25-11-2004:
There's news about "the DVD" and guest star appearances on Horsemouth. Plus the setlist from the Berlin show proofs you can play a piano song on guitar. The Swedish press are so far the only ones to review the Woven Hand shows (“Konserten i vĺras var fantastisk, hypnotisk, vartenda ögonblick hängde i luften.” That sounds quite postive, not? ;-) We hope Johan D finds the time to translate them.) Also (more) pictures, reviews, press links and setlists from Swedish fans: Sticky Fingers - Gothenburg, Södra Teatren - Stockholm and KulturBolaget - Malmö. Thanks Molly, Daau-fan, Jenny, Daniel and Johan D.

03-10-2004:
Four Dutch CTB-reviews (Oor, Rotterdams Dagblad, Altcountry.nl and Platomania) have been subtitled. And four German speaking reviews have been dubbed. They range from the Kulturnews critique (the author wonders if Edwards can tell a dirty joke?) to the Intro write-up (with Edwards as a servant of God in a biblical setting). In between are the Plattentests and Die Presse reviews.

02-10-2004:
More live news on Horsemouth and reviews galore. All still untranslated but four of them are in English anyway :-) This is what Dutch publications Oor, Platomania and Altcountry.nl, German magazines Intro and Kulturnews, Austrian newspaper Die Presse and English-language media like Westword, CD Times, Americana-UK and Drowned In Sound thought of Consider The Birds. From the last mentioned site a second review has been added, namely that of the DVD-A version of Lilium's Short Stories. Thanks Molly, Bort and Jean-Paul.

27-09-2004:
"Consider the birds (ravens), they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouses nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than them." And this is how Consider The Birds is valued by German e-zine Plattentests and Dutch newspaper Rotterdams Dagblad. (Both reviews still untranslated.)

23-09-2004:
Only a few days left before Consider The Birds will be in your local CD-shop in Europe. Here's its first review:"Contents-wise Edwards once again serves strong meat...", according to German e-zine Gästeliste. And visit Horsemouth for some changes in location. Thanks Martijn.

13-02-2004:
Three stars out of ten for Blush live with Woven Hand in London. That's the aggregate score from reviews in The Independent and The Guardian. Even though the English don't like frogs, they sympathize with the amphibian in this show :-) But does the frog really croak? Find out.
