Flex, Vienna (A), 20 July 2003

Woven Hand

David Eugene Edwards

The show was amazing, great as always. The set was the same as in Bruges, with some changes in the order of the songs - Last Fist came first for example ...
White Bird was changed a bit, with Daniel McMahon picking up the guitar and Shane Trost on the bass - it sounded really good, but I missed Shane's trumpet a little bit.

Arrowhead was somehow even more energetic than last time I saw Woven Hand (February 2003), if that's even possible. And in general, all the heavy songs sounded more powerful - maybe because the stage of the Flex is smaller than that of the Szene, or maybe - as David Eugene Edwards said after the show - everything was turned up very loud (it's never TOO loud, hehe).

In the middle of the show, the sound engineer ran on the stage and started diving under Ordy Garrison's equipment with a flashlight - it turned out that a pedal broke - but it was fixed quickly between two songs. At the end (the encore was Good Hand), when David already started saying goodbye and waving out to the audience, Ordy was still finishing his thing on the drums, Vegas-style, earning a "what are you doing, we're leaving already"-look from David
